PEACE

What is Peace? What does it look like? Can you touch it? Do we understand what Peace really is?

We hear phrases like, Peace not War, or Peace time. I think that would suggest that there is a time of calm, a time with not fighting...peace.

How can we have peace? What does this RESULT OF THE SPIRIT look like when we have Peace.

As I read through the scripture, I do not see peace as this feeling of nirvana or a feeling that comes from outward circumstances. Peace is having Jesus and being completely satisfied with him and him alone.

Paul talks about in scripture all the things he has gone through. He sites examples of being stoned to death, shipwrecked, bitten by a snake, whipped 39 times at least twice, but in all these circumstances he has total Peace simply based on the fact that he has a relationship with Jesus.

I am learning this more and more everyday. I do not get beaten on a regular basis because of my faith, but I think we get battered in other ways. Our culture today pulls us in so many directions. With all the consumer adds it's hard to have any kind of peace. Once we get what we think will make us happy, there is already a newer version in stores. (Maybe getting beaten for our faith would be easier...)

Do you have peace? Is your relationship with Jesus Christ enough to sustain you through this life.

Jesus is all we need and that, my friends, will truly bring us peace!!

May our LORD be with you
